80 percent of phone purchases in the North are influenced by Kannywood, according to Abba El-Mustapha.
The Chairman of the Kano Film Censor Board, Malam Abba Almustapha, recently outlined some of the achievements he has made during his tenure.
He also addressed various questions regarding the Kannywood film industry and the political landscape in Kano.
“I believe that 80% of people purchase phones because they are interested in Kannywood, which can lead to some challenges.
However, the agency reported that the issues arose from films and other groups, but we managed to resolve them within five minutes to a day, and then life returned to normal.
It is widely recognized that the Kannywood economy is struggling. We need to engage and collaborate to revive it.
The industry will not return to its former glory because the methods have evolved; we aim to incorporate education and modern techniques into our approach.
There are no weapons involved in this effort, especially not those hidden in our pockets,” stated Abba Almustapha, Chairman of the Film Censor Board.
