The training session for Kannywood members aimed at enhancing their careers has been completed.

The two-day Kannywood training session, held from October 23 to 24, received praise from participants who traveled from various parts of the country.

The event took place at the Kannywood TV conference room on Muhammadu Buhari Street in Kano City, organized by the National Film Censorship Board in collaboration with the international communication company, Google.

During the event, leading experts in the film industry shared insights on the current state of the global film business.

Dr. Husseini Shu’aibu, Chairman of the Nigerian Film Censorship Board (NFVCB), stressed the need for films that attract investors to advance the industry.

He stated that while the Nigerian film industry is progressing, producing meaningful films is crucial for its success. He also pointed out that many filmmakers do not submit their work for review, which is illegal and hinders growth.

Dr. Shu’aibu continued, “We are making efforts to assist film producers with the tools and funding necessary for their development. Industry leaders must seek ways to improve and comply with legal and regulatory standards.”

Abdulkareem Mohammed, a key figure in the Nigerian film industry, called the event a platform for change. He urged participants to use their newfound knowledge for professional growth and global competition.

Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sarari also encouraged the adoption of modern practices to advance Nigerian cinema.

Following the speeches, participants were split into two groups for training. One group focused on how to write movie scripts using modern techniques, while the other group concentrated on film planning, photography, and communication in filmmaking. This training concluded around 3:00 PM.

The second day of the meeting commenced at 10:00 AM, concentrating on the business of film production on social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, as well as major television stations that broadcast films worldwide.

Participants were given ample time to ask questions, spending approximately three hours debating various topics.

The meeting concluded around 4:00 PM, and many attendees expressed their satisfaction with the event’s smooth proceedings.
