The Kano government filed a lawsuit against the singer Rarara.

The Kano State Film Censorship Commission has taken political singer Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, to court for releasing a song that the commission claims it did not censor.

In a statement issued by the agency’s media officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, it was noted that the commission had previously sent a complaint to the singer regarding the new song, which had not undergone the required censorship process. This prompted the agency to take legal action.

According to reports from Daily Nigerian Hausa, the court has already issued a summons to the singer; however, he did not appear in court on November 13 during the session.

Prior to this, following the release of the new song, the Kano State Film and Television Board had reached out to the singer with a request to refrain from any actions related to the song. As of now, the singer has not responded to their message.
