Lakurawa have a drone, they took power in the villages of another state – Bulama Bukarti

A human rights lawyer, Abdu Bulama Bukarti, has reported that the Lakurawa fighters are establishing large camps in the areas they have seized control of in Kebbi State.

Bukarti noted that these fighters have usurped the role of traditional rulers and have been present in Nigeria for six years. He described them as a dangerous group due to their shared ideology with Boko Haram and ISWAP, as highlighted by the Aminiya Hausa newspaper.

He stated, “They are building large bases and are armed with drones, which they use to patrol villages and government military bases.”

Bukarti emphasized the urgent need for appropriate action in this situation, expressing concern that these fighters could soon pose a serious threat to security.

He remarked, “There is no local government in Kebbi State, and there is no Lakurawa, where power is taken from the villages outside the local government headquarters. You can hardly walk five kilometers without encountering them.”

However, he clarified that these fighters have not made death threats against Boko Haram.

Bukarti made these statements during an interview on the Politics Today program on Channels Television.
